Anne Hopley discovered Bowen in 1998 during a massage course when her Instructor discussed Bowen therapy. Intrigued, Anne discovered there was a Bowen therapy course starting in June 1998 and since then, hasn’t looked back!
She became an instructor in 2001. In 2004 and 2005, Anne travelled to Germany to teach the Bowen technique. Her German was rusty, as she arrived in Australia from Germany as a migrant with her parents and had her first birthday here. She managed to teach the students with an interpreter close by. She says, “It was an amazing experience! All went well and we had a lot of fun. It brought home to me that Bowtech Bowen therapy is the same worldwide. A brilliant technique! I get great satisfaction seeing my students learn and get fantastic results with their clients. What a thrill!”
Anne’s business name is Total Healing Hands. She has worked in various clinics, had a treatment room at home, had a treatment room in a Taekwondo centre, but finds now that mobile visits are her main work. She sees a need for this service in the community. The majority of her clients are not able to come to a clinic without great difficulty. The elderly, families with young children, stroke victims in wheelchairs, in hospitals, nursing home inhabitants, etc., – they all need treatments and appreciate that Anne can come to them.
Bowen therapy has given Anne an outlet to help her clients get better.
My clients found that they healed quickly and it lasted well, they didn’t have to come back for more treatment! They were also surprised how gentle, but powerful it was. Bowen therapy now takes up 99% of my workload.
Individual treatment results vary as no two bodies are the same.
